This blog is called 'Kidlit and More'. We hardly ever have 'more,' but we do today. We're going to look at Harry E. Gilleland, Jr.'s new poetry book, "Poetry By An Elderly, Liberal, White Guy."
This book is terrific. Harry not only takes us through the earliest memories of his life (which will make you laugh), he takes you through the bad, sweet, and bittersweet moments, too. Not only that, but he points out his political views and includes sarcastic views on racism. You'll read about his life as a grandfather. Really, you never know if you're going to laugh or cry at the next poem.
I highly recommend this book of poetry for your home library. As someone who doesn't know alot about poetry, I can honestly tell you that this is an easy to read book with easy-to-understand poems.
